Survey Shows Support For Gay Marriage

An unscientific survey taken by state. Sen. William Doyle shows that 55 percent of Vermonters support gay marriage, 38 percent oppose it and 7 percent are undecided. Meanwhile, Douglas is getting a lot of mail in the wake of his announcement that he plans to veto a same-sex marriage bill....

Patten handed the Committee a new UCLA research study released last week projecting Vermont would see $31 million in new consumer spending, and 700 new jobs, in the first three years following passage of same-sex marriage. Vermont Clergy Throw Support Behind Gay Marriage Bill

Maloney joined about 25 colleagues of varying Christian denominations at a news conference at City Hall in Burlington Wednesday to voice their support for marriage equality. They released a roster of Christian and Jewish clergy from across Vermont who signed a statement of support for same-sex marriage rights, framing the issue as one that protects their religious freedoms....
