Silver wants Assembly to vote on gay marriage today

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan, told reporters this morning that he would like his house to vote on gay-marriage legislation today but needs what's called a "message of necessity" from Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Getting a message would mean legislators wouldn't have to wait for the bill, which came out yesterday, to "age" before voting on it....
