At the town hall, Romney was also pressed on same sex marriage. A young woman asked why he believed that that same sex marriage "is lesser than a marriage between man and woman."
"The ideal setting to raise a child for a society like ours is when there's a man and woman in the marriage," Romney said.

He did not vary his answer when another young woman told him she had been raised by two women - her mother and her grandmother - and pressed him to explain why that was not an ideal setting.
