Is David Blankenhorn a liar, forgetful, or both? It's been a bad week for the anti-gay witness who first claimed that he'd never heard of not-at-all-gay minister George Alan Rekers; and then later had to change his story and admit that he had, in fact, read some of Rekers' writing just before the Prop 8 trial. Blankenhorn, you'll recall, is the guy who testified that gay marriage causes straight divorce. Well, he certainly sounds credible.

Also this week: a surprising and under-reported development over at the IRS. Starting in 2010, gay couples in California will get equal federal recognition of their relationships. It's a pretty huge change, and for most domestic partners, it'll mean a tax savings. So, congratulations, gay couples! That only leaves, what, about a thousand as-yet-unrecognized rights and responsibilities?
